A louvered pergola — sold in the US as an adjustable-louver, motorized or bioclimatic pergola — is an aluminum roof whose louvers rotate from fully open to fully closed. Open, you get shade and airflow. Closed, the roof is watertight. GP Automatic manufactures these systems in its own plant in Istanbul and ships them factory-direct to projects and contractors in the United States.
How the roof works
- Louvers rotate 0–135°. You set the angle from the remote — full sun in the morning, angled shade at midday, closed when the weather turns.
- Rain mode. An optional rain sensor closes the louvers at the first drop, whether or not anyone is home.
- Concealed drainage. Water runs through hidden channels in the frame and down inside the posts. No visible gutters, no downspouts bolted to the side.
- Perimeter LED. A dimmable LED line is recessed into the frame, so the structure is usable after dark without adding fixtures.
- Silent motor. Low-decibel drive, one-touch scenes, and optional smart-home integration.
Engineered for the opening, not picked off a shelf
Every canopy is calculated for the wind and snow loads of its own site. Profiles are extruded aluminum, machined in our plant and electrostatically powder-coated in any RAL color. Larger areas are covered by joining modules with a shared post, and we lay the module division and post positions out on the shop drawing before anything is cut — so you know exactly where the structure lands on your patio.
Close it in for winter
The pergola is designed to be enclosed later without rebuilding it. Around the perimeter you can add motorized zip screens, vertical-lift (guillotine) glass, frameless sliding glass, or SolidRoll clear roll-down shutters. With the sides closed, an open patio cover becomes a four-season room that still opens completely in summer.

Ordering from the United States
- Send your dimensions and a photo of the space. Width, projection from the wall, and whether the roof is free-standing or attached.
- We price your actual opening — not a square-foot rate — and confirm ocean freight to your nearest port in the same quotation.
- Production and container shipping from Istanbul. Components arrive cut to size and pre-assembled as far as transport allows.
- Your contractor installs. You receive shop drawings, fixing details and a parts schedule, and our engineering team is reachable through the build.
If you install outdoor structures for a living rather than for your own home, look at the US dealer program — protected territory, factory-direct pricing and technical support.
Questions we get from US buyers
Is a louvered pergola actually waterproof?
With the louvers closed, yes. The louvers interlock and the water is carried away through channels in the frame and down through the posts.
What about wind?
Each structure is calculated for the wind and snow loads at its own location, and the post and anchor detail follows from that calculation. Tell us your site and we will engineer to it.
Can I add screens or glass later?
Yes. The system is built to be enclosed afterwards, so you can start with the roof and add zip screens, glass or clear shutters in a later season without replacing the frame.
What colors can I have?
Any RAL color, electrostatically powder-coated. Anthracite grey (RAL 7016), white (RAL 9016) and black (RAL 9005) are the most common choices on US projects.
Who installs it in the US?
Your own contractor. We supply the shop drawings, fixing details and technical support, and we stay reachable while the crew is on site. If you would rather not manage that yourself, ask us whether we already have a partner in your state.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the covered area, the number of posts, the color, and whether you are adding screens or glass — so a number quoted blind would be meaningless. Send the dimensions and we will price your opening, freight included.
