FAQ / GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently Asked Questions

01What is the difference between an awning pergola and a bioclimatic pergola?

In an awning pergola the roof is fabric that retracts along tracks; in a bioclimatic pergola it is rotating aluminium louvres. The awning is more economical and opens completely; the bioclimatic version is the more durable choice for year-round use and heavy rain.

02Can an awning pergola handle wind?

Yes, up to a defined wind speed; in a storm the fabric roof retracts automatically or by remote. With the optional wind sensor the system moves itself to the safe position once the threshold is exceeded.

03Does an awning need a permit?

Lightweight, demountable and open-sided shading is generally not subject to a permit. Permission becomes relevant if a fixed enclosed volume is created or the building façade is altered; we confirm the local practice together during the site survey.
