01Does a zip screen let wind through?
No — the fabric edges lock into the side rails with a zip profile, so the screen neither flaps in the wind nor leaves gaps. Depending on the project, the system is tensioned to withstand high wind speeds.
02Is a zip screen waterproof?
The PVC-coated polyester fabric keeps rain out; combining vertical zip screens with a ceiling zip encloses pergolas and terraces completely. Blackout fabric additionally offers full darkening.
03Is a zip screen an alternative to glass enclosure?
Partly — a zip screen is more economical, retracts fully when not in use and leaves the façade unchanged. Its thermal insulation is below that of glazed systems, so if a winter-proof enclosed space is the goal, plan it together with guillotine or sliding glass.
